IS MTECH FROM IIT WORTH IT?

For all those guys who did pretty well in GATE and finding it difficult to make decision, here are list of things you need to know.

Faculty for M.Tech and B.Tech are same and have excellent experience in teaching field as well as in industry. Some common courses are conducted together. Quality of labs, research centres and library is excellent.

You get MHRD fellowship of Rs.12,400/- per month. You can easily manage the expenses with the stipend.

Placement opportunities for  B.Tech and M.Tech are almost same. You have to compete with B.Tech students to get placement. Lot of M.Tech guys get better placements than B.Techs. Very few companies hire B.Tech students only. But there are companies which hire M.Tech students only. IITs can help you get placement in your core field as lot of core companies visit IITs for recruitment.

There is ample opportunity to make connection with best minds in our country. The more connections you make, the more possibilities open before you in your future, be it your startup or your research work. Recommendation from faculty is very much worth and will help you to get admission for PHD in foreign universities.

For those who are interested in PHD from foreign universities, IIT is your gateway. Lot of IIT alumnus are doing (or have done) PHD in top universities like Stanford, Berkely, CMU and even MIT.
